In coordination with the “Tramlines” program which Gudran Association for Art and Development organizes in cooperation with the foundation of Literature Across Frontiers (LAF), on Friday, September 14 at 8 pm El Cabina Library will hold a reading for the Spanish writer Francesc Serés where he will talk about his writings, read one story of his collection “Contes russos” (Russian Stories) accompanied with a translation into Arabic as well as part of a text about his journey in Alexandria along with photographs of the journey by the Alexandria photographer Sherif Sharqawy. They will be accompanied by readings of the Alexandrian writer Eman Abdelhamid
Francesc Serés: (Saidí, 1972) is the author of The Guts of the Earth (2000), The Trunkless Tree (2001) and A Lead Tongue (2002). These books were gathered in the trilogy of Manures and Marbles (2003), which was awarded the National Literature Prize in 2007. Together with The Force of Gravity (2006) they have been published by Quaderns Crema.
Francesc Serés is the author of a considerable number of literary works, including the trilogy De fems i de marbres (Manures and Marbles, 2003), La força de la gravetat (The Force of Gravity, 2006), Caure amunt. Muntaner, Llull, Roig (Falling Up: Muntaner, Llull, Roig, 2008) and Contes russos (Russian Stories, 2009), all of which have been published by Quaderns Crema. His most recent book is the collection of short stories Mossegar la poma (Bite the Apple, Quaderns Crema, 2012). His work has been translated into several languages and he has received the National Prize for Literature and the City of Barcelona Prize among others. He writes on a regular basis for Ara, L’Avenç and El País.
